Madame Nhu

In a city where pho is widely available it speaks volumes that Madame Nhu's is considered by many to be among the best in Sydney.

Established in 2007, this successful chain of Vietnamese restaurants serves up a fabulous range of street food, Asian beers, and delightful cocktails.

Based in Surry Hills, but with other locations in Enmore, Crown St, Surry Hills, Chatswood and Hornsby, their signature dish is pho dac biet.

It features three separate cuts of Tasmanian beef, which are arranged on a generous bed of rice noodles and set within a delicious beef broth that is crafted over eight hours.

Hello Auntie

As well as being one of the most popular Vietnamese restaurants in Sydney, Hello Auntie has a very interesting back story.

It is run by owner and chef Cuong Nguyen, a Vietnamese refugee, who shares the kitchen with his mum!

Based in Marrickville and Haymarket, both restaurants are noted for their wooden benchtops and dim lighting which creates a terrific ambiance.

Offering traditional Vietnamese food, with a barbequed twist, all of the dishes on the menu feature pork, beef or seafood that's been perfectly spiced, and superbly grilled with a live flame.

One of the best of them is the triple-smoked braised pork belly, which is so good you'll want to order seconds!

Mr T

A stalwart in Paddington, Mr T serves up a delightful range of national classics, as well as some lesser known regional dishes from all over Vietnam.

Situated on Glenmore Road, this trendy venue features soft pine panelling, mood lighting and golden tones of honey. It's a relaxed and casual setting, filled with the hunger inducing aromas of various spices that radiate from the kitchen.

Known for its outstanding flavour, the twice-cooked crispy skin chicken is one of the most popular dishes on the menu.

It's always pretty busy here, so don't be surprised if you need to queue for a table.

Bay Hong

It's always nice to see a family run business flourishing and Bay Hong in Darlinghurst is one such venue that is ripping up trees.

Managing to combine a sophisticated setting with prices that are more in keeping with a takeaway joint, this accomplished venue prides itself on presenting authentic Vietnamese dishes with a fresh, modern twist.

Offering both an a la carte and set menu, dishes like roast duck rice paper rolls, and pork belly with quail eggs, shine with their exceptional presentation and outstanding taste.

Representing incredible value-for-money, given the quality of the food, it's a toss-up as to who will feel more satisfied ' your wallet or your belly!

Khois

Another family run establishment, Khois is a fabulous North Vietnamese restaurant that delights the locals of Surry Hills with a wonderful menu of specialty plates and ice cold beers.

Situated in the heart of Crown Street, the owners showcase their culinary heritage with a catalogue of traditional Vietnamese dishes. These includes the likes of crispy pancakes with tiger prawns, chicken or beef pho and delectable seafood spring rolls ' all skillfully made with the freshest of ingredients.

Renowned for its quick service, generous portion size and friendly and attentive staff, the restaurant also boasts stylish d'cor and a genteel ambiance, which collectively renders it a lovely place to dine.
