In April 2000 chef/owner Sophie Moses opened toast café in Surry hills. Late 2005 saw the simple café expand into neighbouring space: now a café with a dining room seating 60 people, our industrial kitchen also houses the toast catering operation.
The toast café food concept is this: fresh quality produce used creatively and simply.
This dedication to quality and organic ingredients includes use of: organic free-range eggs; organic bread, pulses & mueslis; murray river sea salt; toby’s estate coffee; quality extra virgin olive oils. Toast café creates many of its condiments and accompaniments including freshly made chilli jam, hommus, macadamia nut pesto & baked goods – as well as sourcing other organic and local ingredients.
