Running parallel to Sydney’s busy George Street and in the heart of Sydney’s business district, Pitt Street Mall is bustling with activity at almost all hours of the day. This open air street mall, is arguably the centre of shopping in Sydney, with the Sydney Tower Westfield on one side, and also providing access to the Strand Arcade, Myer and QVB on the other. During the day, Pitt Street Mall is often crowded with shoppers and street performers. By night, it’s a bustling pedestrian thoroughfare, and if you’re lucky you’ll catch a lone busker, their song echoing among the city buildings.
In and around Pitt Street Mall you’ll find a huge array of shops to keep even the most eager shopper happy. Retail giants like H&M and Uniqlo are here, as well as beauty hub Sephora. You will also find Australia’s own outdoor adventure store Kathmandu, and conveniently across from the Virgin Active Gym are all your sporting needs at Rebel Sport. Surf shops, shoe stores, accessories and of course all your favourite fashion brands are here too, including some of Australia’s home grown brands such as Country Road, Seed and Witchery.
If you are looking for somewhere to rest tired feet and enjoy a drink or a snack, then you have plenty of options here too. The underground foodcourt off the South West end of the mall has your fast food needs covered, and there are some delicious cafes in the Strand Arcade too. The David Jones food hall also offers some fantastic options just around the corner, so you can eat in or pick up some sushi or a freshly made roll and wander over to Hyde Park to enjoy a picnic in the sunshine.
