Welcome to the Royal Sovereign Hotel (don’t worry, most people don’t know that’s our birth name either), affectionately known as Darlo Bar. Step inside a world where the retro furniture is almost as eclectic as the locals. A second home to the colourful and creative locals of Darlinghurst, this is a true institution. Immerse yourself in decades gone by and enjoy the ride with craft and local beers, as well as a solid back bar, with something going on every night.

Upstairs we’re talking a vertical garden rooftop bar, where plants climb the walls and a good time calls.

Unique pub room accommodation upstairs continues the Darlo Bar vibe, and offers cool, affordable accommodation in the heart of Darlinghurst – just moments walk from Oxford Street and Kings Cross.

Like a lounge room inhabited by bass players and bloggers, painters and publishers. A local favourite filled with characters with a story to tell and advice to give. Enjoy a day time drink listening to Johnny Cash or Lou Reed and before the sun sets and you’re tuned to funk, soul, disco, new wave and some lightly sprinkled R&B favourites. With live DJs spinning vinyl, record fairs, dog days, ‘House parties’ and art shows, Darlo is keeping the bohemian spirit of the area at it’s core.
